Left handed indeed, as in Cliff Lee, purchased in mid-season (along with Pedro), without whom the Phillies might well have been shutout altogether in the World Series. As to home grown, Jeter, Pettitte, Rivera, Cabrera, Cano, Gardner, Jaba, Hughes are all home grown.

Thanks Josh. I think it is perfectly okay to give left handed comments on anything not regarding the phillies. This is a PHILLIES blog not a yankees blog, it should be biased towards the phillies. Yes it should still be factual, which it is but i have no complaints that it is biased towards the phillies. That is why I continue to read it.

Keep the posts coming even in this long postseason.

Great comments Ben, and thanks for the support! Drew, I am sorry, you are correct. The Yankees deserve the proper congratulations, so CONGRATULATIONS on becoming 2009 World Series Champions! Nothing left handed about that right!

You congratulate a team, not throw a "but" in there. No left handed compliments.

You are correct they will be back! Sometimes defeat makes a team stronger. If we look back to the yankees dynasty in the late 90s, they won in 96, lost in 97 and then won 3 in a row. Maybe the loss this year will make the phillies even stronger and determined to win next year. Maybe it will force Ruben Amaro, Jr. to put a few other key pieces together. Maybe now with Lee pitching for a full season and Hamels clearing his head in the offseason, they will become a much more dangerous team. Only time will tell and pitcher and catchers report in February. Can't wait to read more of your stories with updates on what this team will look like for 2010!
