Wintry Conditions Force Postponement of Game 3  | read this item

The Phillies caught a break. Major League Baseball stepped in earlier today and postponed the Phillies and Rockies game three, which was supposed to be played tonight at 9:37 PM, to Sunday night at 10:07 PM. Snow was falling in Denver and the game time temperature was predicted to be below 30 degrees. The reason why I say that the Phillies caught a break is because now J.A. Happ will start game three on Sunday instead of Pedro Martinez starting tonight.

Happ has been the most consistent pitcher for the Phillies all season long, and he is a lefty, which bodes well for the Phillies against a Rockies team that has a much better record against right-handers this season. We will see if it works out for the Phillies tomorrow night, but early on, I am calling this a break for the Phillies. Happ does not have the experience that Martinez does in the postseason, this being his first start, but he did pitch a complete game shutout against the Rockies earlier this season. Game four will be on Monday at a time to be determined, and game five, (if necessary), will still be on Tuesday back in Philadelphia.

I’m pretty happy too that Charlie is going with the better performer currently against the hard hitting Rockies. LET’S GO PHILS!!!!!

I think you’re right Josh, but I would like to see Pedro on center stage again.I think he can rise to the occasion once more.Hopefully he can pitch against the Dodgers.Harold

Pedro might get a chance to pitch in what will probably be a long Phillies-Dodgers playoff series.
