In the absence of ‘real’ commentary, a YouTube video will have to suffice. But if you’re any sort of Cardinal fan, you’ll appreciate this piece done by the local PBS station KETC Channel 9 in St. Louis. Yes, footage is a little dated… 2005, to be exact. But the story it tells about how the Cardinals became, well, the Cardinals is fascinating. Especially the parts about the iconic logo’s history and how it came to be.
