The Twins struggles on the road continued in this game. The story was the same for Scott Baker. He pitched very well in the game with the exception of a big mistake. In the bottom of the sixth, he gave up a three run home run to Evan Longoria that gave the Rays a 4-1 lead. Baker didn’t get out of the 6th frame. Sean Henn, Jesse Crain, Jose Mijares and Matt Guerrier got the game’s final seven outs for the Twins.

Joe Mauer had a single in his first AB, a double in his second AB and a triple in his third AB on this 3-5 day. Justin Morneau went 2-4 with his 15th double. Michael Cuddyer tied the game at one a piece with a solo home run in the top of the 6th.

The Twins fall to 24-27 while the Rays improve to 25-27. On Saturday afternoon, the Twins will send Francisco Liriano to the mound to face lefty David Price.

Following the game, the Twins put Nick Punto on the 15 Day Disabled List and recalled Alexi Casilla to the Twins. Steve Tolleson was promoted from AA New Britain to AAA Rochester.
