Yankees Cash In  | read this item

The Yankees have, for the moment, solved their catching situation.  Kevin Cash has been recalled from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre to take the place of Jose Molina on the 25-man roster.  Molina was added to the DL earlier today after straining his quad in last night’s ball game.  No word yet on the 40-man roster move that will enable the Yankees to add Cash.

Cash was 9-18 for Scranton and had missed considerable time with a sore shoulder.  Hopefully he can stay healthy until Molina or Jorge Posada come back.

The Yankees also demoted Mark Melancon back to Scranton to make room on the 25-man roster for Alex Rodriguez, who will be in the starting lineup this evening in Baltimore.
