Actually, Mackenzie Brown was not the first girl to pitch a perfect game in Little League. New York Little Leaguer Katie Brownell did it in 2005, and she did it by striking out everyone she faced. Her jersey is in the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown.

FYI, the past and recent growth of women's baseball globally is not just a mere fad as a result of the recent addition of women's baseball to the IBAFs bid to reinstate baseball to the Olympic program or of the recent accomplishments females have been making in baseball.

Rather, this growth has been happening for at least the past 20 years and continues to happen... independently of the IBAFs bid for women's baseball.

However, the addition of women's baseball and the IBAFs developmental focus on it certainly helps our cause!
