Francisco Liriano gave up just one run through four innings, but he was unable to get out of the fifth inning as the White Sox evened the series at a game a piece with an 8-0 decision.
Liriano falls to 0-2 after giving up six hits and four walks in just 4.2 innings. Matt Guerrier came in and got four outs. Then Phil Humber gave up three runs on four hits and two walks and got just two outs in the seventh inning. Jesse Crain struck out the one batter he faced. Luis Ayala struck out two in a scoreless eighth inning.
The offense was kept off balance all day. Bartolo Colon gave up just three hits over the first six innings for the win. Nick Punto went 2-2 and walked twice. Michael Cuddyer went 2-4. Denard Span went 0-2, but he did walk three times.
The Twins and White Sox will spend Easter afternoon playing the third and final game of the series. Nick Blackburn will face Mark Buehrle at 1:05 central time.
