The Twins advanced to a 2-1 record with their second straight victory last night. Kevin Slowey took the mound for the Twins, and while he was less than spectacular, he was effective in his final innings and the offense did enough to help the Twins to a 6-5 victory.
Some of the highlights included Justin Morneau and Denard Span each hitting their first homeruns of the season, clutch two-out hitting, and most of all, Joe Nathan not only collecting his first save of the season, but also his 200th of his Minnesota Twin career.
The catching situation has been tough for the Twins with their Batting Champion out and Redmond still day-to-day. While the good news has been hard to come by, the Twins finally received some positive updates as Joe Mauer not only caught Scott Baker, but also took batting practice.
While Mauer makes progress, Baker is set to test his shoulder on Friday, and if all goes well, he could return to the rotation next week.
