logo.gifI’d be freakin’ glad we didn’t blow today’s game. I mean, what the $@!*?  In the bottom of the 7th inning, after we’d plated 2 to make the game 2-1, we had the bases loaded with one out and Freese at the plate.  He pops up to right, Yadi tags from 3rd and heads for home, only to be tagged out. Double play, inning over.

Except Yadi is not exactly what you’d call “fleet of foot” and guess who was on-deck? ALBERT EFFING PUJOLS.  What was LaRussa thinking? I mean, seriously. If the Pirates had ended up tying it up or winning in the 8th or 9th innings, I would be livid. That was a ridiculous decision.

Carpenter looked fantastic and I’m so delighted he got the W today.  He pitched 7 innings giving up 1 hit, two walks and no earned runs and recording 7 strikeouts. Awesome.  I’ll take that any day of the week and twice on Sundays.
