I sat in the upperdeck at both stadiums and citi was horrible and had a bad view yankee stadium has a very good view and you are right on top of the field. Also walking around the two stadiums Yankee Stadium is much nicer. Although Citi Field was nice Yankee Stadium was a lot better.

Citi Field looks like a dome stadium to me. Its dark and dreary looking. The NYS is alot nicer than Citifield

Whoa, wait a minute. You ordered a cheesburger and a pulled pork sandwich at one place and then got a chicken finger/fries combo at the other? Chicken fingers? What are you, 9?
That’s like comparing restaurants by ordering the veal Parmesan at one place and then sucking down a basket of bread at the other.
Haven’t been to Citi this year. Yankee Stadium was nice.

- also id like to add that the bridge at citi field is awesome, and the picnic tables where u can get ur food and watch from out in center field is sick

Sorry I didn’t come upon it sooner, but with two SUBWAY SERIES weekends just around the corner, I guess it’s as relevant now as it was when season started, eh?

Anyway, nice piece, couldn’t agree more – and another of citi’s improvements over SHEA, they even did away with the one thing I always found annoying about the place, those crotchety old Irish vendors who always made you feel like you were a complete idiot (and a cheapskate for not tipping them!) And their ugly orange windbreakers! Yikes!

I have been to both more than once and although i am a met fan i am objectively speaking when i tell you that citi field is hands down the better of the two ball parks. Yes, the yankees have a museum and monument park but the ambiance of citi field is amazing. You feel as if you’re at a ball game in the 1950’s except enjoying today’s technology and amenities at the same time. Yankee stadium to me is a very boring stadium and i feel that the mets were right on with the feel that they tried to create with this ball park. The wilpons have made citi field and absolute gem of a stadium and i feel the arrogance of yankee ownership really hurt them when creating this stadium. My only semi complaint with citi field is this whole jackie robinson rontunda. I understand what he did and what jackie did is probably the most single important moment in sports history. To go through what he must’ve went through and still continue to play is admirable but jackie robinson was not a met. He was a dodger. Why did the mets have to try to kiss the rears of minorities when his own team the dodges have done nothing for him. That should have been the 1986 game 6 rotunda in my eyes because whether you’re a met fan or not there is no denying that that is one of the greatest and most memorable games in sports history. All in all though, great job citi field, the yankees have some work to do with that stadium.

Nice Write Up.

Surrounding Area – Yankee Stadium does have a couple great sports bars across the street you can go to. So I would give the nod to Yankee Stadium.

Seating – I have not checked but is either team selling standing room only seats? If so that may be a better option vs the obstructed view seats.

I could not agree with you more Ryan. Sometimes, it might be better to get a babysitter than trying to entertain the toddler at the game.

I know the sausage and peppers are going to be solid at both parks. They both use Premio sausages.

Hey, great stuff, Andrew. My personal suggestion for parents bringing children to Yankee Stadium is to keep the brats in their seats and they might learn something important. Opt for the sausage and peppers.

What’s most important is that the Yanks and Mets meet in October, which would be great for the city and great for both teams.
