Not only will the Dodgers begin the season on the road, but will play 16 of the first 23 games away from Dodger Stadium. Adding to the unfriendly surroundings the Bums will also have to face off against three Cy Young hurlers within the first handful of games in Peavy, Webb, and Lincecum.

Given the tough opposing pitchers, and the high ratio of road to home games, there will be no reason to panic if the Dodgers don’t come out gangbusters the first month of the season. The season is a lengthy one, and too much emphasis shouldn’t be placed on a small sampling of April games.

On the way home from work I happened to drive by Dodger Stadium with the lights shining bright for the Dodgers/ Angels exhibition game. Brought a smile to my face.

A few posts ago, Matt mentioned that we are taking a road trip to see the Dodgers take on the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field next weekend.  If anyone has any Chase Field tips, concession items to try, and general AZ knowledge please pass it along!  Pictures and running diaries will follow.

When we were there a few years ago for opening day, there was the sight of girls throwing ice in to each other’s cleavage at the bar next to the stadium. It’s entertaining a few beers deep.
