Exactly one week from now the season will begin in Philadelphia as the World Champion Phillies face the Atlanta Braves on baseball’s Opening Night. There seems to be that anxious feeling in the air as teams are ready to leave spring ball and take the field when it counts.

- Joe Christensen at the Star Tribune takes a look at questions surrounding the Twins as the new season starts.

- Joe Mauer said this morning he feels the best he has all spring, but will still most likely not travel to Minnesota with the team next week.

- Odds and Ends from MLBTradeRumors says the Twins are still looking for an 8th inning guy with good control. At this point in the season you have to think the Twins will go with what they have and see how the bullpen unfolds.

- The Twins liked what they saw from Rule 5 Draft Pick Jason Jones as they completed a deal with the Yankees to keep the righthand pitcher in the organization. Minnesota sent Charles Nolte to New York and then sent Jones down to AAA. Expect to see Jones back up at some point this year.

- Currently the Twins and Cardinals are in a rain delay for this afternoon’s contest. Kevin Slowey will have to wait to continue his impressive spring.
