Nick Blackburn took the mound against the Cincinnati Reds last night in a game that finally made it to the homes of Twins fans up north. The end result was a 6-4 loss, but there were some good things to take away from the game.
In his return to the mound, Blackburn allowed two runs in four innings of work. The other highlights were the bullpen; after Jesse Crain allowed four runs, the rest of the pitchers allowed nearly nothing.

The Chicago Tribune has an article on Joe Crede. Gardenhire is getting a firsthand look at the veteran third basemen after only seeing him from the opposing bench all along, and he is very impressed.
The Star Tribune has a few different articles worth taking a look at: When Rick Knapp left for the Tigers pitching coach position, the Twins lost a longtime minor league instructor; Eric Rasmussen has taken over. Meanwhile, Carlos Gomez says he is a changed man at the plate.
