Kansas City cut Jimmy Gobble today ending the left handed reliever’s association with the team that picked him in the 1st round of the 1999 draft. The move saves KC about 1.1 million in payroll.
Gobble was terrific against left handed hitters but got roughed up by right handers.

Hillman has admitted to misusing Gobble which was something that was quite evident from the beginning of the 2008 season. Despite the extreme splits last year Gobble faced twenty more lefty’s than righty’s.
Gobble has definite value as a LOOGY and will get picked up by another team, most likely an NL club.
