Starting at 12pm ET on March 7th, BaseballDigest.com, FantasyPros911.com and BlogTalkRadio.com will join forces to help raise money for Cystic Fibrosis with the first of its kind, 24-Hour Internet Baseball Radio Show called, “The 24-Hour Talking Cure.” Paul Greco, co-owner of Gotham Sports Media, whose current projects include BaseballDigest.com and FantasyPros911.com is excited about the upcoming radiothon.

“This is an historic event and we are very excited about the opportunity to help raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation,” Greco said. “With the help of BlogTalkRadio and their CEO, Alan Levy, we will be producing the 24-hour Internet Baseball Radio Show from Texas, New York and Florida.” Greco goes on to say, “This is an opportunity for baseball fans and fantasy baseball owners to team up and show their support for Cystic Fibrosis.”

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is a genetic disease that affects 30,000 adults and children in the United States and 70,000 people worldwide. It causes life-threatening lung infections and serious digestive complications. More than 10 million Americans are symptomless carriers of a CF gene. Young people are lost every day to this disease.

The Internet broadcast can be heard worldwide on the Talking Baseball Live station on BlogTalkRadio.com. The show will feature former, current and future major league baseball players. Those scheduled to make an appearance on the show are Chipper Jones of the Atlanta Braves, Rickie Weeks of the Milwaukee Brewers, Chris Ray of the Baltimore Orioles, Mike Easler former hitting coach of the Milwaukee Brewers, Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals, and several of the Top 100 prospects in the game today.

Also appearing on the show will be on-air and print personalities like Peter Burns of the Ticket760 in San Antonio, Baseball Prospectus’ Joe Hamrahi, MLB.com’s NY Yankee beat reporter, Brian Hoch, Rotowire’s Jeff Erickson are just a few of the many talented people scheduled to appear on the show. A total of over 50 baseball personalities will be joining the show either live or on previously taped segments.

In San Antonio, Tex., Power Swing Sports Complex, http://pstx1.com/, will be hosting a hit-a-thon with local youth teams. Owner Julius Grullon said, “I’m very excited about working with the youth baseball teams here in San Antonio on this great project. Helping raising money for a great foundation like Cystic Fibrosis will help the kids see that there is more to life than just baseball.”
